Dr. Paul L. West
Dr. West is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Natioanlly Certified Counselor with over 30 years of experience as a professional counselor, counselor educator, and researcher. His primary areas of clinical interest include addictions counseling and marital therapy. He is active in national and state professional counseling organizations and is a past-president of the International Association of Addictions and Offender Counselors and the Pennsylvania Counseling Association.
Cheryl Wilson-Smith is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Nationally Certified Counselor. Cheryl has over 10 years of experience in the counseling field primarily working with children and adolescents. She has clinical interests in trauma and crisis. As a trauma-informed therapist, she includes Prolonged Exposure Treatment in her scope of practice. Cheryl's clinical interests are complex posttraumatic stress, posttraumatic stress, military sexual trauma, and sexual trauma.
Cheryl is a member in good standing in the American Counseling Association, Association of Counselor Educators and Supervisors, the Pennsylvania Counseling Association, the Pennsylvania Association of Child and Adolescent Counseling Specialists where she was the Charter President, and the Pennsylvania Association of Counselor Educators and Supervisors. She is pursuing her doctoral degree in Counselor Education and Supervision with a specialty in trauma and crisis. As an Adjunct Professor at Neumann University, she has co-written the curriculum for their trauma and crisis, and Behavioral Health Interventions minor. She also pursues humanitarian work as a Disaster Mental Health volunteer with the American Red Cross.
Cheryl is certified in crisis prevention through the Crisis Prevention Institute and is an Associate Instructor of Non-Violent Physical Crisis Intervention. She has received training in the NCI Crisis Development Model.
Cheryl is an approved provider for several health insurance companies and is accepting clients.
Brandon Ballantyne is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Nationally Certified Counselor. His primary clinical interest is working with adolescents and their families. He believes a strong component of counseling progress is related to the active involvement of the family in the child's care. Brandon has been featured in Counseling Today, a major publication of the American Counseling Association, for his creative interventions and therapeutic style. He utilizes a clinical approach that introduces clients to applicable cognitive behavioral skills while they develop unique outlets for self-expression and interpersonal relatedness. Brandon believes the most effective coping strategies exist within an individual's personal strengths, passions, hobbies, and interests. He works diligently with his clients to establish a health self-esteem. schedule of self-care, and an overall strengthening of their support system.
