"To every veteran and first responder carrying the weight of service — we see you, we honor you, and we’re here to help you heal. You don’t have to carry it alone, and you don’t have to leave home to begin recovery." — Cheryl Wilson-Smith, Chief Executive Officer
Service often leaves invisible wounds. Combat trauma, moral injury, survivor guilt, nightmares, flashbacks, and anger can result in PTSD, hypervigilance, sleep disruption, and isolation.
At Advanced Counseling and Research Services, we offer specialized telehealth PTSD therapy designed specifically for Veterans and First Responders across Pennsylvania and Florida — including individual virtual sessions and our weekly Veterans Trauma Processing Group.
Veterans Trauma Processing Group is a supportive, structured virtual group created exclusively for veterans. Held every Thursday at 6:00 PM via secure telehealth, this group combines psychoeducation, practical coping skills, and safe trauma processing with peers who truly understand.
Many veterans find that participating in this group alongside individual telehealth sessions accelerates healing and reduces isolation.
Gold-standard for reprocessing traumatic memories with bilateral stimulation adapted for video.
Powerful somatic approach for accessing and releasing trauma stored deep in the nervous system.
Gradual, supported exposure to reduce the power of trauma memories and triggers.
Skills for emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and rebuilding safety and trust.
We understand the courage it takes to reach out. Many Veterans and First Responders tell us that telehealth removes barriers that previously kept them from getting help. You served others — now let us serve you with respectful, effective trauma care.
"After years of carrying it alone, telehealth let me finally process what happened overseas without having to drive anywhere. The progress I’ve made with virtual EMDR has been life-changing."
